From building a ramp for a Veteran of World War II, to providing home ownership opportunities to younger Veterans, our programs are designed out of necessity and fit the specific needs of the Veteran population.

On Feb. 12, just days after Gallina sent the manuscript to the publisher, Beatty died suddenly at the age of 39 from a double pulmonary embolism that resulted from his combat injuries. All book-sale proceeds will be donated to Purple Heart Homes to support its mission to provide housing solutions for service-connected disabled veterans. Beatty and Gallina went on to form Purple Heart Homes in 2008. Since then, the organization has completed more than 300 projects in 30 states to help disabled veterans function in their homes, and expanded to 11 chapters in eight states.
